Under its global brand “OSCARMAX”, Sparkle Industrial Co., Ltd. has introduced a new large moving-column dual-head EDM machine to meet the rising demand for large-scale mold applications. This machine not only improves machining efficiency for large molds but also incorporates high-speed powder-mixed EDM technology for achieving mirror surface finishes with surface precision as fine as Ra 0.3 or below.
According to Manager He Chien-Lin of Sparkle Industrial Co., Ltd., the new moving-column dual-head EDM machine is designed to meet the demands of large-scale applications such as TFT-LCD panels, electronic molds, and automotive molds. With a Y-axis travel of up to 1,000 mm, the large-scale machine features a dual-head, dual-control system, an articulated arm control panel, and a patented counterweight-type machining tank door. These innovations provide smooth operation, easy and quick mold alignment, and superior oil-tight sealing performance.
He explained that Sparkle’s newly developed dual-head, dual-motion control EDM machine is designed to deliver the highest precision among the moving-column series, the fastest graphite machining speed, the finest surface finish, and the best tungsten carbide machining performance. The goal is to offer mold manufacturers machines that deliver faster and more accurate results for complex applications.
The company has also developed a high-speed powder-polishing EDM machine that utilizes conductive particles in the dielectric fluid. This innovation accelerates fine machining operations, enhances surface uniformity, and dramatically reduces the need for manual polishing. It is particularly suitable for precision machining of mobile phone components, digital camera parts, TFT-LCD panels, and large mold surfaces.
Currently, Sparkle Industrial Co., Ltd. offers over 80 models of EDM and micro-hole EDM machines, making it the most complete EDM manufacturer in Taiwan. Among these, the micro-hole EDM machines are capable of machining holes as small as 0.1 mm in diameter, achieving true roundness within 0.002 mm and an actual hole size of 0.132 mm. These specifications make Sparkle one of the few manufacturers in Taiwan capable of achieving precision within 10 microns.
